Our team in Peterborough celebrated National Learning at Work Week (15th - 21st May) by taking part in our Career Choice programme, which helps train fulfilment centre employees for in-demand jobs at Amazon and other companies.

The Career Choice programme pre-pays 95 percent of tuition and associated fees for permanent and fixed-term associates to undertake nationally recognised courses for up to four years, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a future career at Amazon.

31 year old Ausra Kiaulakyte is one of the members of our Peterborough team who took part in the Career Choice programme and is now calling on others to follow in her footsteps. Ausra’s worked at Amazon for three and a half years and is doing a qualification in Health and Social Care through Career Choice:

“I’ve always had an interest in health and social care and when I learned about the Career Choice programme, it sounded like a great way to get an understanding of a new career and even build my experience and qualifications in that area. I think it’s brilliant that Amazon gives us an opportunity to widen our skills in other sectors like health and social care. It’s a real benefit not only to me, but to the wider community.”

The Amazon Career Choice Programme is designed to encourage employees to pursue qualifications and training in high-demand fields such as engineering, IT, computer science, mechanical and electrical trades, healthcare, construction, transportation, logistics and accounting to name just a few.

Courses include HNDs, NVQs and BTEC diplomas and are available to permanent and fixed-term full-time and part-time Amazon employees with one year's service.

Over 2,000 employees across Europe have participated in Career Choice in high-demand courses such as nursing, personal training and engineering, and more are signing up every day.
