Over the festive period, many children may have received new toys, leaving their previous favourites to be forgotten and pushed to the back of the cupboard. At the same time, many families across the UK would love to receive a new or preloved toy, especially as we all continue to spend more time at home into 2021.

As well as making a donation of new toys, Amazon is encouraging customers to get involved by ‘reboxing’ and sending their preloved (or even new) toys to The TOY Project, giving them a second home and helping to entertain children and raise a smile in households throughout the country. Visit The TOY Project for more details, including their shop address to send donations.

Each and every toy we can get to a family in need makes a huge difference and most importantly, brings joy to a child in the UK.

Community charities such as The TOY Project have played a vital role in the last year, helping families to receive the support that is needed in the changing climate. Throughout the pandemic, The TOY Project has delivered toys to hospital wards, children of NHS workers, children with families shielding at home and families living in hostels, and is continuing this good work into 2021. The charity also continues to raise money and send donations further afield, including India, Africa the Caribbean and more.

“We are fortunate to work with great partners who provide us with generous support and donations throughout the year,” said Jane Garfield, Charity Director at The TOY Project said. “In particular, the past 12 months have proved to be an incredibly challenging time, with more and more pressure on families throughout the UK and beyond. Each and every toy we can get to a family in need to bring them a little joy, makes a huge difference.”

As well as delivering boxes of new toys to the charity, Amazon has taken to social media to encourage customers to rummage around in their toy boxes, bedrooms or cupboards to help The TOY Project to make a difference.
