From today, Prime members in the UK will be able to add to their Prime Video viewing experience by choosing from a wide range of new TV channel subscriptions to add for a low monthly fee; only paying for the channels they want to watch.

More than 40 channel subscriptions have been added including Discovery Channel – meaning Prime members that choose to subscribe can catch up on their favourite factual entertainment series like Gold Rush or stream the channel live; Eurosport Player – providing access to a summer of sport including this month’s French Open Tennis; hayu – offering the chance to catch up with Keeping Up With The Kardashians; ITV Hub + - ad-free catch up of ITV programmes and live TV; plus many more. This gives Prime members greater choice to access more great entertainment content than before, right alongside the Amazon Original Series and exclusive TV shows like The Grand Tour, American Gods and The Man in the High Castle, that they are already enjoying on Prime Video.

Prime members can access all this new content, once subscribed to the Channel, via their regular Amazon Prime Video app across a wide range of smart TVs, tablets, mobile phones, games consoles and Amazon’s own Fire TV and Fire TV stick, meaning there’s no need to switch between multiple apps or log in multiple times. As with Prime Video content, much of the new content will be available to download to enjoy anywhere, anytime at your own convenience for on-the-go-watching. Innovations developed for the Prime Video experience will be consistent across Amazon Channels, so customers will see recommended ‘watch next’ programmes based on their viewing across the board, as well as being able to access ‘X-Ray’ enabling them to pause TV shows and click-through to access IMDb data about the actors or guests in the episode, along with soundtrack details and trivia.

A mix of live TV, on-demand and catch-up subscriptions, Prime members can enjoy the convenience of being able to ‘try before they buy’ with free trials available on the majority of subscriptions. Plus, with anytime cancellation and no requirement to sign up to a lengthy contract or ‘bundle’ deal of multiple channels, Prime members need only pay for the Channels they want to watch.

Other great content now available to Prime members with additional subscriptions includes timeless movies such as The Hobbit and 21 Jump Street on MGM for £4.49 a month; access to more than 500 movies from Bollywood and the Indian subcontinent including recent releases like Sultan starring Salman Khan on Heera at £3.99 a month, Amazon’s own, curated channel; on-demand classic British films on BFI Player+ for £4.99 a month; fitness channels like BeFit UK for £5.99 a month and ad-free kids content from Hopster at £3.99 a month.
