This week, Amazon is celebrating Armed Forces Reserves Day and Armed Forces Day by recognising Amazon’s military veterans and reservists who use their hard earned skills, training and experience to deliver for our customers.
Congratulations to our People with Disabilities employee group (AmazonPwD) and Suzie Miller, who have both been nominated for the 2019 National Diversity Awards – celebrating some of Britain’s most inspirational people and honouring the UK’s rich history of diversity and inclusion.
We are building on our existing diversity programmes to launch Amazon Amplify - a new programme designed to both further increase the number of women in tech and innovation roles across the UK business and help inspire the next generation of female innovators.
Amazon and WISE - the campaign for gender balance in science, technology & engineering - have come together to launch new research designed to build a roadmap to help increase female representation in the UK innovation economy.
New guidelines include best practice on issues such as the correct use of names and pronouns and restroom accessibility, were created with Amazon employees from across the company with the aim of supporting transgender staff and their allies.
Diversity as a resource: proudly introducing Glamazon, the Amazon affinity group dedicated to LGBTQ+ employees and allies. Together, they help make Amazon a more open and inclusive workplace every day.
