Amazon Web Services (AWS) was delighted to support the Women in IT Awards, held at the end of January this year, which recognise the outstanding innovation achieved by women in the IT industry.

Organised by business-technology magazine Information Age, the awards has gathered resounding support from trade associations, politicians and companies of all sizes and sectors since launching in 2015, with over 1,200 business and technology leaders attending this year.

Nineteen awards were up for grabs including Advocate of the Year (won by Jacqueline de Rojas from techUK), Rising Star of the Year (won by Jessica White from Oakbrook Finance), and CIO of the Year (won by Alison Davis from The Francis Crick Institute).

The Women in IT Awards shines a light on the excellent work that women in technology are doing today. Gender diversity in business helps drive innovation, gives business a better understanding of customers, and means you can always hire and develop the best talent. So the hope for these awards is that we inspire more women to get involved with technology.
