This month, the Amazon Global Student Programs team were lucky enough to visit a school in Bangalore, India to help distribute milk to schoolchildren.

The Amazonians working around the world came together to support our charity partner, The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF), a not-for-profit organisation that strives to eliminate classroom hunger and counter malnutrition as well as supporting the right to education of socio-economically disadvantaged children in India.

During the visit, our global team visited the operations where the lunches are produced and employees spent the morning teaching schoolchildren who benefit from the lunch program on a daily basis

“Having an opportunity to spend a morning with Akshaya Patra during a work trip to Bangalore, was an experience that will stay with me for life,” said Dee Clarke, Head of EU Campus Programmes at Amazon. “The fact that Amazon supports the distribution of nutritional food to 1.76 million children in India made me even more proud to work here.”

TAPF serves nutritional school lunches to over 1.76 million children in 14,314 schools across 12 states in India to help them be stronger, sharper and have a great start to their day.

Similarly, in the UK, we partner with Magic Breakfast to provide over one million nutritious breakfasts to over 5,000 children a day in the local communities where we operate, to help them perform better in their studies.
