Today the finalists were revealed for this year’s Amazon Growing Business Awards, due to be held on 30th November in London. Created by Real Business and backed by the CBI, the Amazon Growing Business Awards are the most established and respected national recognition programme for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurial success.

Nominations were received from over 500 businesses across the country, and over a third of nominations came from rural businesses, spanning Devon to Grampian in Scotland.

We were also pleased to see a large number of submissions from businesses that sell on Amazon or use Amazon Web Services and Amazon Payments to help grow and expand their businesses.

“It is a real pleasure to be part of celebrating the hard work and ingenuity of Britain’s small business community through the Amazon Growing Business Awards” said Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager at Amazon. “There was great competition to make it onto the shortlist in each category, and I want to congratulate all the successful entrepreneurs who are building growing businesses, creating jobs, increasing Britain’s exports and constantly innovating. I wish them all the best of luck on the awards night.”

In addition to being headline sponsors, Amazon companies are sponsoring three categories in particular: Export Champion of the Year (sponsored by Amazon Marketplace); Digital Business of the Year (Sponsored by Amazon Web Services); and Growing Business of the Year: Mid-sized Company (sponsored by Amazon Payments).
