At Amazon, we are delighted to be a lead sponsor for the PinkNews Awards 2020, which will honour the heroes of 2020 and celebrate moments of unprecedented LGBT+ achievement.

We’ll be joining celebrities, politicians, activists and influencers in a virtual celebration of the LGBT+ community as the winners are announced across social media.

This year, the PinkNews Awards will also be raising vital funds for charity partners: Kaleidoscope Trust, Mermaids and the Black LGBTQIA+ Therapy Fund. You can get involved with the charity fundraiser by donating generously or entering the PinkNews Awards prize draw – find out more.

Young Adult Book of the Year: voting now open

This year’s PinkNews Awards will also include a brand new category, Young Adult Book of the Year – and public voting is now open!

Brought to you by Amazon’s LGBT+ Reading Roadshow and education charity Just Like Us, the new award shines a light on five of the best new books on LGBT+ themes for young adults released this year:

Purple and blue book cove with the text, Middle School's a drag

These brilliant books range from a modern retelling of Alice in Wonderland, to a romantic comedy about running for prom queen and falling for your rival. The nominated authors explore important topics and issues like gender, sexuality, cultural identity, mental health and the power of acceptance.

Just like our own Glamazon community and their allies, these authors have fantastic stories to tell and it’s vital that young adults hear them.

You can celebrate this too by voting for one of the five nominees on the Pink News Awards website.

Voting closes at midday on Monday 7th December – watch this space to find out the winner.
