Katie McQuaid, UK Director, Fulfilment by Amazon, participated this week in a panel at Management Today’s ‘Inspiring Women in Business’ conference. The panel examined the important issue of how to make working part-time at a senior level a success for employees and employers alike. Joining Katie on the panel were senior figures from the world of advertising, the legal profession and retail, all of whom shared their experiences about how they made working part-time work for them.

Speaking after the event Katie said: “As a mum of two boys who works part time, this is a topic that I feel passionate about so it was great to have the opportunity to share my personal experience with other like-minded female professionals. Many employers have adapted their working practices to accommodate flexible working patterns, bringing benefits to staff and customers but despite this progress it is clear from the discussion that we still have a way to go. I hope the attendees found the panel helpful and learnt that working flexibly isn’t a barrier to reaching the top.”

Now in its fifth year, Management Today’s ‘Inspiring Women in Business’ conference continues to bring together some of Britain's most fascinating, ambitious and up-and-coming businesswomen. This year’s conference highlighted the issues that affect women in business today and enabled the 350 attendees, mostly senior professionals aged between 20-40 years old, to learn from experts in their fields. Aimed at women at all stages of their career, the conference enabled women to reach their potential via panel sessions, personal stories and insight from leaders across the business community.
