Amazon joins OUTstanding to improve support for LGBT+ employees
We’re pleased to announce our new membership with OUTstanding, the leading LGBT+ and ally professional network in the UK.
Through OUTstanding, Amazon employees will have access to mentoring, online resources, executive sponsorship programmes, board readiness sessions and a broad range of networking events.
Jim Sterner, UK Director of HR for Amazon, commented: “We are committed to creating a positive working environment and supporting the growth and development of all our employees and to support this we are delighted to join OUTstanding. Our membership will help us provide a range of new resources to our LGBT and ally leaders to further their success at Amazon and advance their careers more broadly.”
Speaking about the relationship with Amazon OUTstanding founder and CEO Suki Sandhu, said: “We are delighted to embark on this exciting partnership with Amazon. We believe in helping companies dismantle the barriers that stand in the way of the best talent rising. It is only by recognising the social and business value of inclusive leadership, peer networking and the power of role models, that everyone can really be themselves at work. With increased trust between colleagues and better support for customers, we can all prosper and achieve our common purposes.”
