We are proud to announce our new partnership with WISE, a high-profile campaign which aims to increase the participation, contribution and success of women in science, engineering and technology. Joining Wise helps Amazon to support the development of female talent in STEM sectors across the UK.

Jim Sterner, Head of Amazon HR, commented: “We are delighted to partner with WISE to continue our support of women in STEM. Being a major employer in the technology sector, we understand the need to support the development, retention and progression of women in this field and the impact they have on our business and customers. As we continue to increase our recruitment of women, we understand that there is a need for businesses to support the development of girls and women from the classroom to the boardroom. This is an ambition Amazon is proud to support and we look forward to working with WISE towards this goal.”

Amazon’s partnership with WISE provides access for Amazon employees to training courses, public speaking masterclasses, online networks and greater access to events. WISE also offers training to our employees wishing to be a part of its revolutionary ‘People Like Me’ programme. This resource prepares individuals to offer effective outreach to girls and inspire the next generation of women to begin a successful career in the exciting worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths.”

Speaking about working with Amazon, Helen Wollaston, Chief Executive of WISE said:

“Most girls and their families probably won’t have thought about the technology which is at the heart of Amazon’s business model. We look forward to working with Amazon role models to show girls the relevance of studying maths and computing – as a passport to an exciting variety of future jobs and careers working with big brand companies”.
